This scent is sophisticated and sultry. It has a vintage meets modern vibe, with a playful elegance and a slight animalistic depth. Bergamot adds a brightness to a floral heart, which is warmed with Vanilla and Amber. It is a scent that can be worn to the office, but feels much better suited for formal occasions where you get all dolled up, or for moments when you want to feel sexy and alluring. It maintains great longevity and sillage, and is suitable for any season. It is comparable to the original Shalimar, created in 1925, and has been compared to Chanel’s Le Lion.

Inspiration

Shalimar was inspired by the passionate love story between Emperor Shahjahan and his wife, Mumtaz, which culminated in the construction of the Taj Mahal. Its name comes from ‘The Gardens of Shalimar’, which was Mumtaz’s favorite garden.

Notes

This scent opens with the brightness of Bergamot, which brightens the floral heart of Iris, Jasmine, and Rose. Vanilla and Tonka Bean bring a sweetness that is warmed with Balsam Notes and Amber, which also adds a sensual element.
