Review

This scent has a subtle density to it. The Benzoin/Styrax releases a resinous sweetness, making the Ambergris smooth and sensual. There are hints of the ever-so-subtle beachy aroma that Ambergris can have in an Amber-focused fragrance. It is elegant and romantic with a hint of wildness waiting to be released. This Amber is soft enough that it can be worn in an office setting, and transitions well to any evening activity your evening brings you. Though it might be a touch too warm for the summertime, it can be worn in any season, and will last while remaining soft and intimate on the skin. It has been compared to Around Midnight by Mark Buxton, and shares subtle similarities with Perris Monte Carlo Ambre Gris.

Notes

A blend of Leathery Cistus and smoky Frankincense starts this scent off with depth. Amber quickly joins in, becoming sweetened in the perfect way with Benzoin/Styrax. Just when you think it might be too sweet, another layer of Ambergris comes in at the base, deepened with Patchouli. A touch of Vanilla keeps things from getting too intense, and helps to brighten the resinous essence of the Benzoin in the heart.
